Talking Solutions was founded by Áine Egan, a member of the IACP.

She graduated from the Tivoli institute in 2009, is an experienced counsellor & psychotherapist with a background in community development, training and group facilitation. Following HSE and official government guidelines face to face appointments have been cancelled. From Monday 7th April online and phone counselling will be available. This support is only available to adults and teenagers aged 16 years or over, with parental consent. In extremely challenging times it is normal to struggle. I have experience supporting people with the following stresses;

I have been privileged to share people’s lives in many different environments and this has shaped my approach to supporting others. Experience has taught me that any process of change is unique for each person. Effective counselling is not a one-size-fits-all but works towards change and well-being over time in mind, body, and spirit.

Although there are many different approaches used research indicates that a trusting, supportive relationship with your counsellor is critical to supporting personal change. My approach is humanistic and person-centred using cognitive behavioural therapy and practical techniques to promote self-awareness, self-compassion, and improved confidence.
