Talking Solutions was founded by Áine Egan, an accredited member of the IACP.
I am an experienced counsellor & psychotherapist with a background in community development, training and group facilitation. Limited counselling is available using video online or via the phone in confidence. This support is only available to adults and teenagers aged 16 years or over, with parental consent. If remote counselling is not appropriate I will do my best to refer you on to other supports. Counselling can help with the following;
- Bereavement Counselling
- Anxiety & Phobias
- Work-related Stress
- Bullying
- Depression
- Sexuality
- Emotional, sexual, physical abuse
- Relationship struggles
- Trauma
- Recovery from addiction
There are many different approaches used in counselling. However, research indicates that a trusting, supportive relationship with your counsellor is critical to supporting personal change. Counselling is a process of investment in ourselves which can promote personal insight, awareness, self-compassion, and improved confidence. Self-compassion is the bedrock for personal healing and growth. I have a post-graduate diploma in psychotherapy from the Tivoli Institute (2006-2009) and additional qualifications in adolescent counselling, addiction & group therapy.
It is always a privilege to share people’s lives in many different environments and this always shapes my approach to supporting others. My experience has taught me that any process of change is unique for each person. Effective counselling is not a one-size-fits-all but works towards change and well-being over time in mind, body, and spirit.
